I posted in a thread here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=60692 a couple of weeks ago with a couple of questions regarding locking tuners for my Strat plus.

Since then I've managed to acquire one of the right type :D but it had a missing locking cap so I ordered a bag of 6 genuine Fender caps in brushed Chrome and although they look identical to my existing ones, they don't fit, it feels as though the thread is a different pitch.

I've tried four of the six in the set and they are all the same and I've swapped them around and tried them on different tuning pegs without forcing them on and they just don't fit.

So, are there different thread pitches for locking caps? It seems unlikely that there would be but I can't think of another explanation.

Thanks, I don't have access to a mic or thread gauges right now but I did a bit of searching on the net and it would appear that the thread size was changed at some point.

Mine is a 92 US strat plus and I'm pretty sure that the tuners are the factory fitted ones, the pack that I have here that is the wrong thread is part number 0994932000, but those are the ones that seem to be sold everywhere.

Does anyone know of an alternate part number for locking caps or even if they are still available in the old size?
