...and it came back all wrong. They said I have a '70s Stratocaster, when it's a Standard HSS. They said it had the big headstock, while it has the regular headstock. They said it was an SSS, while it is an HSS. They said it had "F" tuners, while it has plain tuners. I don't know if they made a mistake or if their information is flat out wrong.

Did you buy the guitar new or secondhand? Post a photo and the community here will help identify I'm sure :)

I bought it used, but it's in perfect condition. I know it's a Standard HSS Stratocaster, hecho en Mexico, 60 diamond on the back of the headstock. I was interested in things like the day it was manufactured. I replied to the Fender guy, hopefully he just typed the serial in wrong.

Here's a snap:

A friend had my Tex-Mex strat before me. He had the information from Fender about it but couldn't find it. So I sent a message to Fender. All they could tell me was the year it was made. My friend found the spec's Fender sent him a couple years ago. I hate to say this (as many here get offended by it), but I really don't think the customer service people really care to put any effort into helping us.

Of course there is no chance that you typed it wrong to begin with.

Hi bugo where is the snap I see nothing?
We all can get it wrong even Fender. Maybe you could send them the photo and query it again. I'd like to see some photos of the guitar. :D

Mebbe the guy manning the phone that day just enjoys "jerkin' somebody's gherkin" for the sheer hell of it.
