I've just picked up one of these beauties, amazing sound and so much easier to play than a rickenbacker, I can't believe that they aren't more popular.

That's an awesome looking axe. I've honestly never seen one of these in person yet. It looks sweet though. I take it that pick guard wasn't stock? It's a really bright mint green color. Do you find this guitar as practical or does it just look cool?

I don't know about any "Stratocaster X11" but I've had a Stratocaster XII for a number of years now......

The first thing I did was heave that horrid mint pickguard and aged plastic parts, replacing them with a white mother-of-pearl guard and parchment knobs, pickup covers, etc. This is no "repro" of a vintage instrument and the original "aged" trim makes the guitar look goofy.

Electronically, I gutted mine and replaced everything under the hood. My pickups are now CS '69s (much more articulate and "jangly"), wired up with CTS pots, CRL switch, Switchcraft output jack, and all cloth push-back wire. It's not quite a Rick 360/12 but it's close enough for my stage needs.

BTW, if you want a G&G hardshell case for yours, you'll need to find one designed for either a lefty Strat or a Strat with a reverse-headstock neck. The bolsters on a standard Strat case will not accommodate the modified "hockey-stick" headstock.

HTH

It's still all stock, I prefer the aged look, its about 2002-04, great for the older covers 60's 70's, etc. She fits into my G&G case no problem.
