Hi all, I am new to this forum, but have posted this thread on the Strat-Talk forum, and would like to hear your opinions too.

I have noticed lately that the strings on my Am. Dlx Strat have been not running parallel to my neck. As they run down the neck towards the bridge, the gap between the low E string and the edge of the neck seems to widen (see in photos). I'm wondering whether the neck is out of line? Any advice on how to fix, or if you can diagnose the problem, is welcome.

Just loose the four neck screws a little bit and "bend" the neck down and tightened the screws. It is a common adjustement

This!

Had the same on a few (mostly USA for some reason!) Strats over the years - slacken the strings a bit, back off the neck screws, give the neck a pull towards the lower string side, retighten (keeping a little pressure on the neck helps keep it in the right place) and should sort everything out. :D

It only takes a tiny bit of error in the neck positioning to make some pretty huge alignment problems, so it's normally very easy indeed to sort it out. If it helps, my Strat Plus in particular was worse than yours! Two minutes with a screwdriver and it's been perfect ever since.

i agree with them just loosen it and think of it as "reseating" your neck. thats odd that happend i have an identicle guitar just diffrent colors and its easily the pinacle of attention to detail when it comes to guitar i was impressed by fender. what year is it

Ok thanks everyone, I had tried to do this, but could not get any movement in the neck whatsoever. I contacted the official distributor for Fender in New Zealand (where I live) and they suggested taking it to a luthier to have it checked out.

I'm very surpise that there is any movement , neck poket is never thight like that. But it takes some force to realign the handle with the strings and located just screw loose.
