I have an 2002 Double Fat and LOVE the neck. It's a little beefier than the modern C and the edges are rolled. My absolute favorite Strat neck.
I'm looking for another and found a 97 Big Apple...are the necks identical or are there some differences? Please enlighten me.

Gotta make a decision today. I know...not the ideal scenario, but...price is exceptional and...they're hard to find in SB.

Okay - the necks should be somewhat similar - they are both considered the "modern C" shape. As you mentioned, your 2002 has the rolled edges; the 1997 Big Apple will not have the rolled edges (that started in mid-2000). The neck shape will vary a bit from guitar to guitar any way due to hand sanding and finishing, etc.
