Hi
I´m new to this forum and I wonder if anyone can help me? I´ve bought me a strat at last and I´ve checked it and it was built in the US in sept. 1987, but in what plant? Did they build theme at Fullerton and Corona or was it just the Corona plant. The serial is E423648. The guitar is in fine condition and I´m very satisfied with the buy 8)

If I remember correctly no Fender guitars were built at Fullerton after 1983-84. American standards have always been built in Corona

Yogi is remembering correctly; FMIC did not buy the Fullerton plant from CBS when they bought Fender in early 1985. It took them several months to get their plant set up in Corona; I believe they did start producing the reissues (what are now called the American Vintage series) in the fall of 1985 at the Corona. The American Standards were designed the following year and went into production circa October/November of 1986.

You have a great guitar there...I bought a new one in '87 and one of my sons owns it now and whenever I see it and play it the thing still has a great vibe...enjoy it!

Thanks, I will!
It feels very good, solid and a good sustain. I´ve always been playing $@!. copies so it feels good to play the "real thing".
