I've played one in a store. It had great twang and could just go really smooth overall, when it was clean, and was able to jump to a loud, crunchy, tone easily. They're worth investing in if you plan to play a variety.

Are you going to post a picture of your 62? You had asked how in your other thread.

Never played an SRV. They wouldn't let me play with it because it was so expensive. But you can get great tones with any guitar. Just mess with tone settings on the guitar and amp. If you have a set of the pickups, just get a body to fit your style and mount them.

The pickups that come stock in this guitar are the '57/'62's. They're also stock in the AVRI '57 Strat, hence their name.

Most people find them to be a fairly accurate representation of vintage Strat tone. They're low output, so they're not what most would consider a "hot" pickup. If you like alot of distortion or a very modern sound, it's probably not the pickup for you.
