I ran across a lightly used, possibly never played Sonic Blue '61 Thin Skin Strat at my favorite Guitar Center yesterday and it had to come home with me. The looks pulled me in but the Fat 50s pickups sealed the deal when I plugged it in to a '65 Super Reverb Reissue in the store's Fender Room. Now I want the amp, too. GAS never ends. :)

NEVER plug an interesting guitar into an interesting amp if you don't want to deal with GAS! :D

Thanks, Snowy and Arjay.

Picking up and plugging in that Thin Skin did make me fall in love again. It's as light and resonant as my well worn '65 and I flashed back to the time I first picked up a Strat. It reminded me why the Stratocaster will always be my favorite electric guitar.

Oh, and the looks didn't hurt, either.

I feel your pain every time you mention the Sonic Blue '65 that got away, Rebelsoul. I'll bet she was one beautiful guitar.

I'll try to remember those words of wisdom.

Then I'll forget as soon as I see a cool amp.

It is a super sweet amp. I wish someone would buy it because the last thing I need is another heavy tube amp. I swore off them after I bought a '65 Twin Custom 15 Reissue. Then again, casters or an amp cart would help ease the pain. Hmmm....

She was John, and I really wish I hadn't let her get away, but like you said about your new one, they feel really close and have lots of the same vibe,so I love them too.
I'm still going to look for one like yours, and you've given me more G.A.S.!...that one looks great! :D
