Hi! I am new to guitars and I have a Stratacoustic. When plugged into the tuner or amp I have to pull the jack plug out of the end pin slightly to get the sound to go through. I unscrewed the end pin and it is a sealed unit. Is there a fix for this or should I replace the end pin? If I need to replace the pin what type do I need to buy?

Many thanks for any help!!

Robert

Eh, for a quick fix I'd try a pencil eraser. You can always trim it.

The internal metal prongs are suffering from metal fatigue. Some use a dental probe to get inside the pin and bend the prongs up to where they used to be. This is an exercise in futility however as the prongs will only flatten down again after a few uses and continue to get worse to the point where they won't even hold your cable in at all. The bottom line: Replace the end pin but do yourself a favor and get a Switchcraft brand one.
