Hai guys,

I can't believe I missed this strat! WOW! http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=4478 Absolutely beautiful. Its begging to be bought! Just have to hold out till I get my paycheck in, maybe sell my old guitar, but mmm I.. must.. have.. it. Heh heh heh.

I did a quick search but couldn't find any topics on it, I have a couple of questions if theres anyone out there that has one:

Where is it made? Am I right in thinking its in Korea?

How are the pickups? What kind of tonal quality is there to them? Are they hot, vintage voiced or what?

How much brighter than a traditional (alder) strat is it?

And finally, does anyone have any pics of these beauts? I'd love to see a high res shot of the vintage white finish!

Cheers, guys :)

I was in Korea, and if thats where its made I would stay far away from it. You have no idea what its like there.

i've played both the Koa and the Lite Ash, which are both in fact made in Korea and both are amazing guitars.... i personally like the lookf of the lite ash, it played well for the most part when i played one... the pickups are slightly different than conventional strat sound, but nothing extremely noticeable to the ear

I wouldn't want to dingy purely because it originated in Korea. All the same, I'd definately play before I buy. Plenty of good stuff is coming out of the East nowadays. My acoustic (Alvarez 12 string) was made out there and plays great for the cost! My friend has an old Samick LP copy which plays well, too.

I'm working every day right through till Sunday (bleh 11 days straight!!) but come Monday I'm going to head into town, hit up my local guitar shops and see if any of them have one in stock. Depending on how it plays, sounds and how it looks in person I might very well have found my new guitar!

One question tho, I can't really tell from the online photos, anyone know how the 'vintage white' compares to Olympic white? Slightly yellower?

Oh and.. I read on another forum that the bridge on the Lite Ash isn't compatible with 'official' Fender bridges (as in you couldn't switch it out for a better one). Is there any truth in this?

I've been to Korea too. Just because the place stinks like sewage and dead fish doesn't mean they can't make a decent guitar. Actually, an awful lot of decent, affordable guitars come from Korea.

i own a lite ash strat and it is my favorite guitar. the neck is fantastic and the seymour duncan pickups sound really good. i added the clapton midboost kit to mine and it sounds better than anything i own and i own several american fenders to include a 57 reissue. it has a fuller, rounder sound.

Hey,

Thats great :)

Could you tell me, tho, is it just the fretboard that is birdseye maple? Or the entire neck? I haven't been able to find any pics of the neck.

Dude, you were knocking Korea big time. Like "if you ever saw Korea you'd understand that nothing of any value could possiblly come from there." So I gave Brooklyn a little knock to give you a sense of what it feels like to have your home dissed. I'd say you know less about Korea then I do of Brooklyn.

By the way, I was born in Kings County Hospital, lived in Sheepshead Bay on Haring St. I've got nothing against Brooklyn or anyone from there. I've got a lot of good friends and relatives from there.

First thing is, we need to stop the bickering, I`m from Sheepshead Bay also. I live on Bedford Ave. 2 blocks from Madison High School so we`re neighbors. Now I`ll mention why I said that about Korea. I was stationed there for 14 months so I know more about Korea than I hate to admit. When I was there it was a very backward country and having to live there for over a year you get to learn a lot. At that time they were still using steam engine trains, locomotives. I know they have advanced since then, but I know for a fact that nothing of quality came from there as I knew it. Thats why I said those things about Korea.
I was also in Ft. Lewis Seattle Wa. Beautiful state but a bit rainy. The views of the mountains were unreal and being an artist it really left an impression on me. Lets drop any hard feelings and if you want to email me your more than welcome. Who knows, we may even have some mutal friends. You wouldn`t recognize the Bay now, major building going on and loaded with condo`s.

These days Korea is a major manufacturing country, loaded with high tech production facilities and a large base of well educated, well trained and well paid workers. They turn out some pretty good stuff. I do remember my first visit to Pusan. The stench alone made me want to leave. It was worse then the Phillipines, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong. It was nasty.

Yeah, it is a bit rainy here. Not as much as it used to be, global warming and all that. There's an old joke that says if the Indians couldn't see Mt. Rainier, it was raining. If they could see Mt. Rainier, it was going to rain.
