Hi Everyone,
I've been searching online and can't find an answer anywhere that makes sense with my guitar's wiring. I'm hoping someone here has the answer!
I have a Fender Standard MIM Fat Strat wired like this: http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... C_SISD.pdf
What I'm trying to accomplish is to:
1. Have tone control of the Humbucker instead of the Middle pup.
2. Have the same tone control as a Push Pull Pot so that I can split the Humbucker for single coil use.

I've been searching everywhere online to find a wiring diagram that would allow me to do this but have come across none that resembles my current wiring diagram. Is this even possible? Maybe that's why I couldn't find an answer?

Thanks everyone!

Kim

Welcome, Kim.

Yes to both of what you are trying to accomplish.

I've answered your question via e-mail as for some reason or other (probably too long) I keep getting an error message stating, "Experiencing technical difficulties".

Just wanted to say "Thanks, Martian!" You're awesome. I was able to accomplish what I wanted all because of your email. For those who may want to do what I did here is Martian's email:

Kim,

I tried answering your question over at the Fender Forum but I keep getting a message that they are experiencing "technical difficulties" every time I try to post your answer. So, here it is. Any questions, just yell. Oh, and welcome!

Per your referenced diagram, to simply switch the tone pot from controlling the middle pickup and reassigning it to controlling the bridge pickup. unsolder from the terminal of the pickup selector switch, the white wire coming from your lower tone pot and resolder it to the terminal of the pickup selector switch immediately to the left of it that has the green wire from your bridge pickup already soldered to it. That's it.

As you will be replacing the lower tone pot with a push/pull pot, the outright 'pot' part is to remain wired exactly as it is to this point which includes the above one wire modification.

With the push/pull pot, I shall presume that you want it to work in single coil mode with the knob pulled up.

On the push/pull pot, the switch part has two columns of three on a side terminals. You will only need to use two terminals on one side so just pick a side.

With the shaft of the push/pull pot facing downward, solder one end of a wire to the lowest terminal of the switch and then the other end of that wire to ground. Next, solder one end of a wire from the middle terminal of the same side of that switch to the terminal of the pickup selector switch which has the black and white wires from the bridge pickup soldered to it. That's it.

Enjoy!!

Regards,
Roy
