Hi. I have an SRV strat and would like to switch the bridge to a righted bridge. Can I do this with the gold bridge on the John Mayer edition?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum.

If you are asking if it would be a direct swap, then No. Some major woodworking would be involved.

Like Chet said it would involve some major routing of the trem, but it's not impossible. Stevie's No 1 had a right hand trem originally. You can even see the plug that was installed on pictures of No 1. Personally I like the left hand trem, you don't have to reach as far to grab the bar and I don't have to change my right hand position to use it.

If you read how SRV made his strat, he had to cut a hole on the top of the brige route and fill in a hole at the bottom where the tremolo arm attaches... In other words, just buy a different body, don't damage the SRV body.
