I have their blocks in all of my MIM strats. They fit well and are much heavier than stock. However, your tremolo won't fit anymore. Different thread pattern.

You'll get an improved note separation, improved sustain over a zinc block like you find in MIM Strats. The brass ones will give you some added harmonics. They're not as dramatic as there more $ ones like kcg's or callaham, but they're twice the cost.

I have one of their blocks in my made in China Starcaster. It fit perfectly, including the tremolo arm. Since I have the trem decked, I don't use the arm. There was a noticeable increase in sustain and tone from the original zinc block.

Of course there was. Altough there are some that will say "there's no difference". I dont know how someone cant hear the difference. you wont hear much difference between that and a Custom Shop model, because theyre made the same way, but a zinc the difference is glarring. Now, whether or not you like the difference is up to opinion.
I used Callaham for a long time, but switched to KCG's high mass brass. The steel ones sounded just too....steely for me. the brass is great, especially with overdrive; that's where i really noticed the difference. I had harmonics popping off that never came from that guitar before.
But, if i played country, or something that sounds good with the steely sound, id go for the heavy steel. Actually, i still have a steel one on the strat that i have the trem set to float, because when they float, some of the punch gets lost in the mix. But the one i have decked i use brass.

Ive installed a few GFS for people, that's how i know how they sound. Plus the company's only like 15 miles from my parents house. So im able to shoot down there when im visiting. They were making me order them, they said they only allow people to pick up guitars at the actual address, but after i ordered the 8thor 9th, they said jsut come and pick it up.

I have a GFS steel block in my 2009 MIM Standard Strat. Noticable improvement. Interestingly enough, the 09 MIM Standards have a full size zinc composite block that weighs as much as a steel block.

I just installed the complete GFS trem system on my 2005 MIM strat - also added the stainless steel GFS saddles, love it & made an immediate tonal improvement! Worth the price for sure!!!
