I love this thing. In my fifty years of playing it is my all time favorite guitar. The playability of a strat with good output. Mids and lowes to die for. High end still there, but not piercing. There is NO humbucking sound to this guitar at all. It is single coil all the way..
Another thing I like is that the top knob, which I always got my hand tangled in, is no longer there. Got the pickguard wired and ready to go with one volume and one tone and love it that way.
With any amp I have this guitar is a sure winner. . . Egnator Rebel 30 combo, Blackface Deluxe Reverb, Mustang 3, and the rest.
Also have Les Paul and American Tele and each gets some time, but the P-90 Strat is my baby.
I will say this, however. . . I do miss the true top end spank of a strat now and then for one song or another. Wondering. . . Should I just get a Mexican strat for those few occaisions or perhaps convert my AmTel to a Nashville and let it handle the usual strat fare????

Ideas???
I will make a recording of it on a blues thing for you all soon so you can hear for yourself.

Hi songsmith1950,

I like your idea of adding a middle pup to the Tele, that should handle the Strat tones too. Of course, adding a Strat would also be nice, keeping the Tele stock. Lots of decent MIM Strats to choose from for not much money, I just ordered a Blacktop Strat myself, something different. But, don't tease us, we need a pic of the Strat with P-90s. :D

I'd like to see a picture of that Strat. My Thinline JA90 Tele with P90's is very bright and clean without being thin. The pups are much hotter than my strat of other Tele. I think it's going to make a great country guitar. I'd like to hear how yours sounds to compare the Suhr P90's.
