I had posted this topic a bit a ago. I'm finally getting around to putting the on the website.

Pickups and electronics from the 50th Anniversary Strat.
Neck and Pick guard from the Clapton Strat.
Body and Bridge from the Hwy1.

All of these:

Became this:

The funny thing is I really miss using all of these guitars. So I'm going to put it all back the way it was.

Wow!
That is a beautiful guitar. Great job. Don't let anyone get to ya about mixing up your strats. It's all about having that guitar that is your perfect guitar. Looks like you made mine. Hope it's yours too.

You may be grabbing the wrong link, but what I'm seeing is that you can only put one link between the IMG brackets and it looks like you're putting a few in there. Do new image brackets each time you add 1 photo.

If you perform some nice relic job in the body and the neck, you can turn your guitar into a real "Blackie" without the overwhelming price tag. EC would be very proud, IMO.

With the CS '54s you can nail those classic Clapton Stratocaster tones from the 1970-1985 period - unless you finally decide to change your mind and put a set of Lace Hot-Golds or Super 55 Split-Coils with TBX and MDX tone shaping circuits!

I agree that the this Strat sounds more like Blackie and anything I've ever played. Deffinately nailed Clapton's sound from the '70s

But Eric rarely uses Strats with regular passive circuits.

He liked much using the active stuff because of the "Woman Tone" he gets.

If you're looking for EC's repertoire from 1986 to the present, you're decidedly out of luck because the pickups Clapton uses now are stacked humbuckers powered by an active midrange booster.

For years I was using my Clapton Strat, but I was trying to get a more 50s vibe out of my Strat. I prefer the Lace Sensors over the current version.

I was also able to get some really nice modern Clapton tones out of my stock Hw1 using positions 2 &4 with the tone knobs turned to about 4.

It seems that Clapton's sound has changed so much over the years and I love all of it.

At the moment I'm digging on my '79 Strat. It has a really nice SRV vibe about it.

For a certain period (c. 1984/85) Clapton tried his skills with other instruments such as guitar synthesizers. But his synthesizer days failed to attract his die-hard fans.

Subsequently Eric stopped using his candy red G-505 synth controller in 1986 and synth-based tracks such as "Never Make You Cry" and "Oxford Circus" were retired from his repertoire.
