My 1989 strat plus has a Wilkerson Roller nut. It's the kind that all the strings go over andthen under the rollers. I finally decided to change my strings from .09's to .10 gauge. All seemed to be going well until I got to the 3rd (G) string and it would not fit. I tried for about a half hour but had no luck. decided to try the rest of the strings and they all went in with no problem. The string fit in the slot but would not pass under the second roller. I finally tried feeding the string in backwards to see if that would open things up and it finally did then I tried to feed it through the proper way and finally after a lot more time I got it through. If I stay with this gauge would I continue to have this problem or is there something I can do to resolve this problem? The .10 sound great and I don't get the buzz on the second string any more. Of course I won't know this for sure until I set it up.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my Plus Dlx recently. Tried a set of Dean Markley 11-52, they come with wrapped and plain G. THe plain 18 would not fit, so grabbed a 16 from another set. The rest didn't fit well either. Used the wrapped 20 for D, then the 32, 42 for A and E. There are different size Wilkinson nuts for the Pluses, I don't think it's going to be easy to find any though.

Yes the nut does come in two different sizes. I was told that the wilkersons come for 9 or 10 gauge strings. However I was also told the plus comes with the 10 gauge size. It does appear as if mine is for the 10 gauge strings as all of the strings in the D'Addario XL 110 set fit easily except thje 3rd string. Either the nut was made to tight or maybe the wrong string was in the set.
