Well i've found this 1996 fender stratocaster mim that i like alot, but the logo is black where its usually silver. Did some of the mexi strats come with black logos or was this what this specific year came in. i've seen some with the black logo with squier series at the end of the headstock, but this one doesn't have it, so i was wondering did it come in the black logo , and is their another way to make sure its not a squier series because in this year range they looked the same?

The 1996 Fender Strats MIM Fender logo is Silver not black. I know someone who is trying to sell one and just saw the pics.

Sorry Timu theres both types. Heres one I bought in 96 from the biggest guitar showroom in Europe.

A budget fender from the opening of the Ensesada plant. I suspect they were introduced to use up Squire hardware left at that factory after they moved to the far east. The body and neck are fender, squire bodies are slightly smaller. Something that has always been up until recently with the JV series. The pickups, tuners, electrics and trem were all squire.

Actually not all Squier bodies are smaller, currently only the bullets and Affinities are the smaller size. Standards, Deluxes, VMs, and Classic vibes are standard strat size. I have a 94 Chinese Bullet that is standard size at well, it really varies from model to model, and year to year.
