Hi all, been hanging in the G-DEC 3 area. I've got better and bigger amps, but the G-DEC is an awesomely fun amp. Then I discovered that there was way more to the forum than the D-DEC 3 area! Duh.

For a strat, I've got an '07 Classic Series '60s in candy apple red. I love it. I had a few mim strats and lots of Squiers. (Most of the Squiers went on the lab table for horrible experiments).

But right now the current strat is the best I've had so far and came with Lindy Fralin pups, a bridge/neck blender and a bridge pull switch on the volume knob. The best part is I got it in a trade! Woo hoo!

Anyhoo, glad to meet ya!

Walt

ps: how do I attach a pic in this place?

I'd love to hear a review of the Gdec 3. I am contemplating the Gdec 3 blues model.

You'll have to load the pics on a website like photo bucket, from there they have an option to copy the IMG code and paste it on here. Very simple once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the tips on posting pics. I'll get busy.

Regarding the amp, it really is super fun. The tone is ok, but I got it a lot better - Jensen speaker upgrade, sound tubes on the ports, a little polyfil in the interior, the sound is actually very good now. But out of the box wasn't that bad either.

I have a Fender tube amp and a Vox hybrid tube modeling amp too, that have tone in spades, so when I want tone I play through those.

But for fun, try the 400 backing tracks you can play along to in perfectly sync'd loops. (You buy the amp with a certain edition - original, blues, country, hard rock, and it comes with 100 bands and presets. You can convert whatever edition you have to any other in about 10 minutes, hence, 400 different backing tracks).

And if that's not enough, you can load your own backing tracks and presets through the SD card slot, or through the USB cable and the Fuse software.

I also got the Jimi Hendrix and SRV playalong books with SD cards. I tell you, that is the way to practice! Way easier than a CD, and very intuitive.

Every band track has its own effects preset which is also adjustable to your tastes.

I would instantly buy this amp again if I lost it. I can't say enough about how much fun it is to play along with a band vs practicing all by yourself. Sure you can practice with a CD, but that way you're the 5th wheel, with these backing tracks, you are the lead!

Anyhoo, it does more stuff too, but I'm having so much fun with the band tracks, I haven't explored much else.
