I posted on here before about my homemade "add bridge pickup" toggle switch mod which adds a bunch of useful tones and costs about $3. Well, I spent another $3 and put in a series/parallel mod for the bridge and middle pickups. It works great. The series combination sounds more full like a humbucker. I can't believe how many more useful tone I have been able to unlock from this guitar for $6 in micro-mini toggle switches! The two micro minis are mounted by the volume control and aren't really that noticeable. If people do notice them its kind of neat because it creates the mystique of "what do they do?" This Mexi start is becoming one of my all time favorites. I just love it! I can post a little switch diagram on here if anyone is interested.

Since I have a couple of guitars screaming for mods I would love a mod such as this. Sign me up.

I had the neck/bridge switch for years. Last weekend i was stuck in the house, so i rewired my strat 3 or 4 times. FIrst was changing the bridge switch to series/parallel, then i added a second switch for in/out of phase. The series works okay, better on the neck for a thicker tone, the bridge is only so/so. The sound is too unfocused because of the distance between the two pickups. I noticed i have a 250K pot there, I'll change it to a 500K next week, and am confident that itll improve the series.

I like the sound of playing the middle/neck in series, out of phase (or in phase, or whatever it is). It sounds like a half cocked wah, and instantly makes me think of "Samba Pa Ti" from Santana. The one question that arose from it was; what boost would sound best for in series out of phase?t? My Timmy set for clean boost wasnt it, my Exotic EP Boost wasnt. It still technically has the same output as with it in phase, i did the reading. Shows you output numbers are meaningless if you're not comparing just pickups.
I think running a MXR 10 Band EQ, and tweaking the slikder until I find what boosts the sound of it in series, out of phase best so its actually useable.

I did it to my PRS for the bridge pickup yesterday, but the pickup is a low output PAF, so it had like half the output of the 2 single coils in series, so it didnt do the trick, i disconnected it. now have a push pull that doesn nothing.
