I've got a MIM strat that play great, but tends to go out of tune when I use the tremolo. I've been considering replacing it with a Super-Vee BladeRunner. From what I've seen and heard, it looks like a good alternative, and the price seems reasonable. What I'd like to know is if anyone has experience with this, and are you happy with the results. Any real world insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

If staying in tune is your main concern then a bridge alone may not fix it. You get most of your tuning problems at the nut. If you are a heavy trem user I would suggest a locking nut or LSR with locking tuners. Then add some string saver saddles or roller saddles. Then make sure your bridge is set up properly to return to zero each time within a few seconds, and your tuning problems will most likely be history.

If its just a better tuning stability, get your existing tremolo and nut setup and dressed. I have a Callaham's on 2 strats, w/different blocks for them, but they're essentially just a vintage type tremolo. I can play hours using the tremolo, and mine floats, and it stays in tune. If you're going out of tune, unless you're divebombing the tremolo, and the strings are properly stretched out when you put them on new, and are changing them, you shouldnt be dropping out of tune too badly.

If its just another trem; the Super V is a good designed one that sounds pretty close to a syncronized tremolo, much more than a Floyd Rose. I just find them ugly as sin on them. BUt, thats just my eyes.

I looked more closely at the bridges you mentioned. They look very nice. I would say it is a decent upgrade if that's what you're going for.

Hi Trek. I would avoid making a move until I got a proper diagnosis. In the past, I have gone ahead with decisions which I now see where delusional. I thought I knew what the problem was, and everybody wants to sell you stuff. I am so glad to be getting advice here on the forum, as there was no internet when I was in my teens! Thanks to the guys out here I hope to make an educated purchase on an amp soon.

Hi trekhead, no real world experience w/this bridge, but it looks interesting. The price seems good. The design seems logical. The only thing that I'm not sure of is if the blade will indeed not break or wear. So I emailed them to ask if the blade is replaceable. If so, I might give it a try. Obviously, you still need to consider all the strings contact points on the guitar as well to keep the tuning stable. Basically keep them clean & lubed. And as others said, make a proper diagnosis. cheers

I just received a reply on my query. The blade is replaceable, & it's also guaranteed for life. :)
