Hi, Im thinking of upgrading my strat neck and I noticed the body neck slot has a round hole with a weight or something in there.

Anybody know what this is for and what its called?

Thanks...

Hi stagger,

You might be referring to the micro-tilt neck adjustment hole. The "weight" inside is the plate and Allen screw that pushes against a similar plate on the neck heel. This is to adjust the angle of the neck to the body, instead of using a shim as in the old days.

Why do you think it necessary to "upgrade" the neck?
