Hi!
I'm about to buy this very cool CS 1998 American Classic....
I already contacted Fender Cust. Srv to check on the serial (the seller does not have the COA), everything OK there *but* I was wondering: did they actually make this 1 in Burgundy Mist ? I'm just trying to rule out buying a CS Neck w/ a body that's not original...
Can any1 in here maybe shed some light on this ?
Any help would be hugely 'preciated !

Hi MattYanzen,

You should try this again, ask the authority, they should know more of the details than anyone else. It is a nice looking Strat, maybe check the Custom Shop sections of the forum and search for this topic.

Hi,
Thanks f/y reply, 'preciate it a lot !
Great suggestions, I'll check 'em out !
Most of the times it means a guitar was made 'on order' for someone, when it's got different specs than the catalogue, right ?
Cheers,
Matt

Yep, that's why they call it the Custom Shop. If you post pics on the Ask Mike Eldred forum (second link), they may be able to tell if it's the real thing or not.
