I'm the proud owner of a '04 50th Anniversary Am. Series Strat. It’s a really wonderful guitar. A few years ago I replaced the parchment single-ply pick guard with a pearloid pick guard.

A week ago I put the parchment one back on. It's no longer an off-white color, but a dark tan color. It’s now a creamy coffee color and pickup covers and knobs clash with it. Has anyone else out there had the same thing happen?

I find this very odd considering that it hasn't happened to any of my other guitars. I have a Clapton Strat that's ab out 10 yrs old and the plastic parts haven't aged to much. Only the neck became darker.

So sorry no photos. I've never been able to post them here, but you can see an older photo with the pearl pick guard on my facebook page. Look me up at Paris Thalheimer.

Sorry I'm just not techno savy.

Paris where did you store the original pickguard and what did you store it in? It sounds like either a reaction to flourescent light or perhaps a chemical reaction with whatever you stored it in. :?

My '99 Lonestar has a pearloid pickguard that's almost yellow, as opposed to the standard white. Some just age differently I think.

Embrace the aged look- I think it's awesome, personally!

Its just something that happens with white plastic when exposed to the elements. It may clean up a little, but you're stuck with it. Time for a replacement.
