thinking about getting the 57RI and 62RI both new soon this year.

my question is that do they have very thin neck currently?

i like the thick neck and cant play well on the thin neck.

in the past, i met some RIs and som of them had ok neck som had thin.

most were thinner to me so i really had to find thicker one.

so tell me if you have the models from the recent years.

are the necks thin or med or thicker? on the 57RI and 62RI strat.

the 57 reissue strat has a V neck and 62 reissue strat has a c neck

i own a 62 reissue surf green strat (its a 2009) and if i had to describe the neck its medium in thickness. i would say go to guitar center and play both

I have a '57 RI from early this year. I think the neck is fairly thin. I like it myself but it feels pretty thin compared to, say, an American Standard. Obviously it's got a different profile and radius and so on ...

It sounds as if you are habituated to a Nocaster U- type neck. I was wondering about necks when I bought a CS, and got a pretty good idea while researching at Wildwoodguitars, look under Wildwood 10´s, there are measurements there for 4 types of Fender necks. I am thinking you won´t be pleased with purchasing by guitar model, but by purchasing based on the neck you want. Best Wishes!

Most reissue necks are bigger than the thin modern C they put on American Standards. I have a Custom Shop 65 reissue and I would say the neck is medium as others have posted. Nowhere near as thick as a Hot Rod 62 or my John Mayer, but definitely thicker than an American Standard.

Well.....maybe. Never played a '62 Hot Rod or John Mayer Strat so I can only speak from personal expirience. I had an American Standard last year. The neck felt fairly thick to me in comparison to the American Vintage '57 Strat I have now as well as the Road Worn '50's Strat I have. Now, I also have a CS '56 Time Machine Strat and that one does have a very thick neck.

My '62 HR has the thickest neck of any of mine,those include a '57RI,and a '59 RI from Wildwood....and the American Standards are the thinnest that I have.
