OK, I've been looking on web for a strat and have decided on a MIM claossic player series. But don't know if I should go for a 50's, 60's or 70's. I like the look of the 70's the 60's has 69 pickups on. And didn't Hendrix play a 50's? Also isn't the body on a 60's thicker than the others? What do you guys think? Thanks

Hendrix used many guitars or different years.

Later '60s Strats had a thicker upper horn. It wasn't done on purpose, it just started happening as they made the guitars.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, I know I should go and try them out but where I live there isn't much choice, that's why I'm looking online. I also found a MIM Custom shop strat with matching headstock. Anyone know anything about them?

No such thing as a MIM Custom Shop Strat. The MIM Classic Player 50s and 60s have a neck plate that has "Custom Shop Designed" stamped on them, but they are not Custom Shop guitars.

Am I correct in assuming the MIM classic player 50´s guitar will carry a V neck and sound thinner than the 60´s classic player?

You do need to try all your options to see which you prefer, however I have been looking at both the classic player 60's and the 70's reissue. After trying both I went for the 70's simply because I preferred the feel of the neck. It truly is a very nice guitar.
