Its a fender stratocaster with original seymour duncan dubble humbucker colour black.
Build in 1996, an 50th anniversary edition in the colour candy apple red.

Does anybody know more about this guitar, and what will it be worth?

Hi timbindels, welcome to the Forum.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm not seeing your photo. Care to try again, please?

Cheers - C

Without seeing a picture I really can't tell you anything. Does the guitar have a little gold foil sticker on the back of the headstock saying something like "50 years of Fender?"

If so than it's just one thousands maybe millions of other Fender instruments (to include all other electric instrument) with that sticker built in 1996. If this is true than it's not a "50th Anniversary" Strat. Those where made between 2003-04 and only in a few models of Stratocasters.

Let me know when you have some photos.

Good luck!

Ah, yes indeed. Good call.

Like this?

Mind you, that doesn't get us any closer to ID'ing the Strat in question. We've merely narrowed it down to a million or so...

Yep possibly a 96 strat as Paris has already suggested.
Where is the serial number that would confirm it.
Looks like it has been modified with a bucker and string trees.
Have not seen one with those style tuners though nothing would surprise me.
Fender the company celebrated their 50th in 1996 and the strat in 2004
Plenty of these around value around $700usd tops in my opinion.
Hope that helps :D

The solid black logo is only a recent change (2008?), for the MIM. To be clear, 1996 was the Fender 50th ann, and 2004 was the Stratocaster 50th ann. I think that all production American and most/all Mexican Strats had the stickers on the back of the headstock for the anniversaries (so, nothing special, thousands made), but only the actual MIA "50th Anniversary" models had the special neck plate and/or engraved pick guard.

+1 Shimmilou...and the headstock is the correct shape for '96, they weren't quite right on that lower bout back then, they have since corrected the headstock shape to the traditional pre '66 style :!:

I'll join in with those who say it appears to be a 1996 American Standard that has been modded with the black tuners, string trees, black pickguard and the humbucker - it's a nice looking guitar worth about $700.
