Hi everybody!

I am just going to purchase new instrument, and I've seen the Fender Stratocaster with mahagony body in one of the Internet shops.

That fact was huge surprise for me, because I never heard about such configuration in Fender programm.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any specifications or smth in Fender product Catalog.

Do you have any info or advise about this guitar?

Thanks in Advance

Fedor

Fender did make a mahogany Strat as a special edition. I own a mahogany body Fender/Squire Satin Trans Fat Strat and it is a very nice guitar. It has Duncan-designed pickups in a rear rout set-up(no pickguard), a 2 point tremelo and a nice satin honey-colored finish on the solid mahogany body. It was in like new condition when I bought it in a pawn shop for $135!! Hell, it even had the plastic coating on the tremelo and control backplates!! I love it, and it was cheap. The mahogany body imparts a unique tone that my other Strats don't have. Mind you, not a BETTER tone, but a different tone.

Personally, I would go the Tele route for a mahogany guitar. As was already stated, Hardtail Strats are available, but they don't make a lot of them for a reason.

The Custom Tele FMT HH uses a mahogany body which produces a very nice warm, creamy tome, as opposed to the typical bright, twang of the Strat.

Good luck in your quest.

Here's the Guitar Center page for it. There was a half page section in the most recent Guitar Center catalogue that details it also. I can't remember where, but I think I read somewhere that it was "heavy" in weight.

Hello Kirpenko,

Sunday at the local guitar center I saw this
mohogany strat whatsthatsmell linked to
Really nice crimson red with black headstock face,
black pickguard and pickups and knobs.
Tons of people in the store so I didn't have a chance
to play it, but it does look good.

Cheers.
