Hello,

Can someone enlighten me regarding the color of the American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster tobacco sunburst. Is it a brown or a reddish brown? Some pics appear as a reddish brown and others just plain brown. I don't know if it's due to my monitor, the fault of the camera or if there is that much variance in the tobacco finish.

Thanks,

It's definitely a brown. The finishes are similar to Sienna sunburst in the respect that there can be a bit of variation in them, plus its hard to capture right on camera. All the ones I've ever seen though have definitely been leaning to the brown side though.

+1 on the brown. The deluxe ash also comes in aged cherryburst which is definitely red but you probably know that. Sienna and aged cherry are often confused but sienna is a bit more brown :D

I have have been wondering if retailers are mistakenly using the aged cherry sunburst when advertising the tobacco sunburst or if the tobacco has a reddish undertone to it. But you say no reddish undertone, definitely brown?

Thanks again,

The aged cherry has a pearloid pickguard.
Maybe some pics will help but it can depending on ambient light the settings on your monitor etc.
the order is sienna, tobacco, another sienna. aged cherry.
all great colours !

Agree. Tobacco sunburst is brown. Sometimes lighting, flash effects, etc., can throw the colors off a bit in a pic. Cherry sunburst has the red in it, as well as the 3-shade sunburst.

Thanks for all the replies and especially the pics. I am having trouble deciding between the two finishes. The tobacco has a more business vibe to it and the cherry adds a bit of flash. Both are beautiful.

Thanks again,
