I have a 2011 American Deluxe Stratocaster and recently tried the EMG DG-20 loded pickguard in it. It sounds amazing, but it gave me the idea of making my own loaded pickguard...

So...

I went to GC and Sam Ash (GC didn't have all the parts) and picked up...

1 Fender mint green pickguard (original color that came with my guitar)
1 Fender 5 way switch
3 Fender 250k volume\tone pots
1 Set of Fender white knobs (2 tone & 1 volume)
1 set of Fender custom shop texas special pickups

I followed the wiring diagram and soldered it all up myself, put it in the guitar, and it worked right out of the gate. I worked in industrial maintenance for 17 years and did alot of soldering in both electrical and electronics, so I was pretty confident in my work.

It sounds awesome!!!

Do you still have the S1 switch? Did you do this so you can swap the originals back and forth with the Texas Specials? Sounds interesting, though I'm completely happy with my stock setup. With the S1 switch engaged, I get my favorite sounds.
