You are one of the few people that have ever mentioned Steve Gaines.Truly one of the best strat players that get overlooked. All you have to do is listen to Street Survivors and see it, especially " I know a little".Great playing IMO.

You know me, Bud -- I march to my own drummer. Prolly why I enjoy obscure bands like the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood, Crabby Appleton, and Toy Matinee.

Too "weahd" for most folks, I reckon......

Most people don't know Duane Allman for playing Strats, but most of his studio work before the Allman Brothers were with Strats and Fender Twin Reverbs.

Yep,I'm not sure when that picture was made,I have another that shows a BF Twin behind him,but only shows the normal channel knobs, but you would recognize it RJ...I can't scan it yet....I'm reposting the pic so folks don't have to click on a link.

BTW the Strat must have been one of his favorites,I've seen it in several studio shots.

That one's a TR with D120F's -- I've seen that shot before.

2 Jimi
3 Shawn Lane
4 Robin Trower
5 Richie Blackmore
6 EC
7 Gilmour
8 Andy Summers
9 Robert Cray
10 Mark Knopfler

Having known Shawn Lane n bought a '77 Strat (which I still own) from him, am TOTALLY shocked no one on the Fender forum has mentioned him. By the way, screw what Helbourg said about Shawn in an intervew; that he was "the best sideman I ever hired". Shawn was one of the most talented, humble , innovative & technically proficient guitarists I EVER MET. Maybe you guys on the Fender Forums should research him by checking out his youtube clips. You certainly could learn a thing or 2 from him.

Although I didn't know it at the time John Lennon and George Harrison were among my favourite Strat players. The unison lead break on Nowhere Man was played on 2 identical sonic blue Strats.I didn't find out until much much later that it had been done on Strats but it had always been one of my favourite lead breaks and for years figured that it had been done on 2 Rics.
Of course the rest of my list would include Jimi,Rory,Jeff Beck and Jeff Healy and most of the others named.

David Gilmour, SRV, Eric Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, (YJM is too much of a Douche, and plays the same tired arpeggios), Ritchy Blackmore. Plus a bunch of rhythm players that never get any props, including here on my post.
