Hello all you strat loving people,

I found a strat that I would like to have in the USA - I live in Germany. I was reading thet the strings should be loosend, otherwise the guitar could probably be damaged. That is something I really do not want to happen.
That has got to do with the extreme different temperature between on ground and in air.....

So could you give me a hint, what to do is the best?

Thx in advance for all your replies

Maple is a really hard substance. You shouldn't have to do a thing to ship the guitar. With mohagany neck guitars with sharp headstock angles (like a Les Paul), you shoud tune down the guitar a whole step.

Reason for keep the string tension to help stablize the wood during shipping. Neck could warp otherwise.
