Money is always a factor. There are many, many models of a stratocaster to choose from. Keep in mind too, to sound like Ritchie Blackmore, you'll need similar effects, amps, as well as his chops to get your strat to sound like him. Figure out what you can afford, and start looking for design factors (HSS vs SSS, 60's vs 70's headstock, 9.5 vs 7.25 radius, V vs C profile, maple vs rosewood, etc.). Then try to find a model in your price range with the specifications you want. Don't be afraid of choosing a Mexican made strat over an American of similar value. To me there is little difference between MIM and MIA strats once they are properly setup.

Thanks for your replies guys!I forgot to say that i dont want to buy a signature guitar. I prefer maple to rosew and sss. What about to buy for example hw1 as i love the honey blonde and its cheaper than the american standard and deluxe models and mod what its necessary to have a sound close to blackmore's. I have a fender mustang amp but i will change it if i have to

Welcome to the forum!

The Hwy1s are a good choice especially if you'll be modifying it, IMO. Keep within a
budget that will allow you to afford a good tube amp as well.

Good luck!

HI Paotheos and welcome to the forum. Is there any reasonwhy you don't want a signature Strat? The Jimmie Vaughn Strat is Olympic white with a maple neck and Tex-Mex pickups that would give you that great Blackmore quack and fullness of tone and they are among the lower end price wise of Strats.I tried mine and picked it from about 10 Strats and money was no object at the time.Having said that I think that you should give signature Strats a look as you may be disregarding your dream guitar.Anyway good luck with your guitar hunt and let us know what you get and please post pix.

If i get a hw1 i think i have to change the pickups. Witch do you recomend? By buying hw1 i can afford a new amp so what is your advise? I don't want to pick a signature guitar cause they are expensive only for the signature... I dont think i can pay 1000+ for a mexican with 2 pickups. I dont say that it is a bad guitar but u can find the same with lower price.

Blackmore was a fan of Lace Sensors for a while, Fender made a Custom Shop version of his classic Strat in the past.

Image

Modern touches included a set-in maple neck with 22 frets, Sperzel locking tuners two Gold Lace Sensors with 3-way switch and an American 2-point pivot tremolo bridge with stainless steel block saddles. This guitar was also available with a Roland GK2A synthesizer pickup.

So a highway one with Lace Sensors and a new tube amp would be a good set?

Highly recommend the Highway 1 and a good amp. I would also recommend to play around with amp settings with the highway 1 before modifying it. I love my neck and middle pickups, but wanted a thicker sound with my bridge pickup. Most of my mods on my hwy1 were cosmetic in nature except the bridge pickup change.
