In wondering if they were wired in phase, instead of out of phase like they should.

Ummm... Nope!

They shouldn't be wired out of phase. Its pretty much the weakest sounding pickup combo going. The BL L200 should be wired in Parallel and in Phase like most strats (unless a custom phase switching has been installed) .

The OP's noise issue occurred after a period of time in which the guitar worked as expected. I reckon a wire has come loose and its a grounding issue.

Right, Ive doing series/parallel wiring all week. I was thinking about in series/out of phase.

thanks for all your help but the mystery has been solved.
i brought the strat back to my friend who installed the pups and it is dead silent thru his rig.
Sounded incredible!!!!!!!!!!!
he has a very nice rig which helps, not to mention he's a very accomplished player.

i went back to Church which is where i play and the two amps and the problem was still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok maybe the cord,, nope
one of our sound guys was around and we worked on it until he discovered it was a ground problem.

thanks for all the help
Mike
