Anyone know why the left handed highway one strat is no longer listed on the Fender site? Have they stopped making them? I can still find them out in the retail channel, but was curious if there's any more info on whether they're EOLing them or just getting ready for a new version.

Thanks in advance.

This has been debated somewhat over in the telecaster forum. The HGWY 1 Telecaster has been missing from the website for a couple of months now and from what people have picked up from dealers etc, the Highway One series is to be discontinued, the fact that the left handed Strat version is now also missing would suggest that to has been dropped.

It all could mean a revamp is gonna happen but seeing as the current models are from the 2006 revamp I doubt they would do another especially with the American Special series of Strat's and Tele's.

If you want one then there are still some dealers who are carrying stock and i've seen some photos of shops with 2011 HGWY Tele's but not many so if you come cross a left handed Strat snap it up.

I've also heard the Highway Series is going away in favor of the American Special. I think what killed that model was the fact they switched to a 70's headstock which people love or hate. My guess is there were a lot more haters.

Heck NO!! The 70's headstock was a deal-MAKER for me as far as the Highways are concerned!
ALL of my heroes had that silouette of the large headstock....Trower , Blackmore, Gilmour, Lowell George....and least we forget JIMI!!

I, personally think it looks cool as all heck!!
11 of my 12 Strats have a LARGE headstock!!

The Highways had a very good run........NOTHING lasts forever!
