Ive had my HW1 Strat for a while now and Im really not liking the big frets and the maple neck. Im looking for a rosewood fretboard and the frets found on an american deluxe. So my ? is can I get Fender neck that will fit my guitar? Or should I just plunk down for a Warmoth custom neck?

Any "normal" Fender Strat neck will work...which isn't to say that you don't need to setup your guitar after installing it. They usually don't need a neck shim (in my experience) but sometimes they do to get the action just so. But the simple answer to your question is yes.

Having said that... you may still want to get a custom neck from Warmoth or another manufacturer. I have two Allparts necks and love them both... one is their "fat" model and the other is a "c" shape. The fit and finish on both of them is great....amazing really. One of my strats also has a Warmoth neck, and it's well made too. The advantage to these is that you can order one from many shapes, radii, finish, tuner hole size, fret size, etc. Otherwise, you'll be stuck looking for Fender neck on ebay which has the specs you're looking for.

Hope this helps a bit...

You might also contact Tommy at USACG -- he's more than happy to build custom-spec necks.

Yes another Fender neck should fit on. You could have one custom built. You can find Fender parts on Stratoshpere on (I cannot believe I am saying this) ebay. You can use Allparts, Warmoth, or some other after-market parts dealer if you like. I had a neck built for an old Squier I used to own by Warmoth. Best neck I ever played on. Custom built to my specifications. The only bad part is I could not have Squier on the headstock. I know having a brand name on a guitar does not mean a thing, but some people like it.
