I'm helping a buddy with a fret job (3 frets) on his Made in Mexico Fender Standard Strat. It's a 2001-2002 model. Does anyone know if the stock frets are Vintage OR Medium Jumbo?

I think Fender MIM Strats switched over from vintage to medium jumbo in 2006, but I'm not sure.

Medium jumbo are easy to play with than vintage

how worn are the frets? if they are quite worn you will need to do a very delicate fret dressing on the new ones with out lowering the others too much.... as far as i know the frets on it should be medium jumbo, a easy way to check is to measure their hight of the frets with a vernier guage if you have one, taking into acount the normal ware and tear of 10 years of use if they were vintage sized frets they should about 0.6 -0.4 mm high, if they were meduim jumbos they should be about 0.7mm - 0.9mmhigh... and big bad jumbos are normaly about 1.5mm high... (correct me if im wrong, thats just what ive measured on my guitars!)
