I recently acquired a 1989 USA Strat. It is in mint condition, has samarium-cobalt noiseless pickups (genuine Fender but not original), and 500K pots.

I think I'm in love. The guitar works flawlessly. It even stayed in tune (close enough anyway) after playing with the whammy bar.

The noiseless pickups were particularly impressive. I play in a venue where even guitars with humbuckers have been noisy (poor shielding I suppose) and this guitar was dead quiet.

I love buying, selling, and trading but this baby might be a keeper.

In my opinion Leo Fender had essentially perfected the guitar amplifier by 1964.
