I have a I a Korean made Stratocaster with Seymour Duncans and natural wood finish. The only thing is it does not have "Stratocaster" on the head. It just says "Fender" and nothing else. Does anyone know anything about this guitar?

Hi vadgar,

From your description, it might be a "Lite Ash Strat". Does it look like this one?

Thanks shimmilou! That IS it! I was beginning to think I had a fake. Do you know why they chose not to put the "Stratocaster" on it?

I've got the same strat. Very real, very nice to play. My go to gigging axe because it plays and feels so nice, and if i get a ding or whatnot, it won't upset me as much as if it were my Am Standard. All in all a great guitar...ENJOY!

It IS a Lite Ash Strat- some purists don't care for the Korean Strats, but I have one, too (of the 5 strats I own) and while it isn't my "go to" gig axe, I love its feel & sound... honestly, I'm just keeping it pristine & hope it'll be worth more money someday!

I have a Fender Telecaster, made in Korea. The same thing, it says Fender on the headstock but not Telecaster. I emailed Fender customer relations this morning with the serial number. I haven't heard back yet. I'm hoping it's not a fake. It's a real nice guitar. It has SD humbuckers with a coil split switch.
