So i read an article that some company just came out with a new pickup. It looks like a lipstick pickup, but uses ANTIMATTER, held in place by a magnetic field, so it doesnt come into contact with anything (matter), and possibly cause some chain reaction. The guy who wrote about them said they were like no pickup he's ever used. He said the sustain was other worldly, and that if you move your hand in a certain way over the while a string is ringing out, it acts like a theramin, along with other traits that he's never heard in a pickup.
I guess they're $500, and need to be recharged every couple years.
Here we go;;
LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUMMMMMBLLLLLE.

That's a bargain at $500. Do they have their own accelerator at the factory or do they order it from Switzerland?

Dont know, but the article said that the technology did come from the Large Hydron Collider.
Dont know what type of antimatter it is. Photons are techincally antimatter. they use them in imaging at hospitals.

A friend of mine put a set of these in his eighties Strat.
The sustain was great, however problems arose when he reversed the middle pickup.
Subsequently the protons and electrons of the mid were bombarded by the antiparticles of the neck and bridge, therefore producing massive radiant energy.
He regained consciousness at a Duran Duran gig in 1983 with a massive black hole in his pickguard. Needless to say, the Strat had to be completely rewired.

George Knapp of KLVN-TV in Las Vegas recently reported on a large theft of Unobtainium (Element 115) from Area 51......I'm betting it found its way into the magnets of these new pickups.

That last line makes this a truly well-written joke. Well played, sir!

I heard that you have to upgrade to flux capacitors with those pickups.

Into the Delorean, Marty!

Joke if you want, but they're real.... Im very curious to what they sound like. there's no doubt that its not going to be a subtle difference, once we all hear them, i doubt it will be the maple vs rosewood debates.
The only debate will be who's going to spend $500 on a set of pickups (I would for the right traditional ones), that need to be recharged. Does this mean the only sound the best when they're fresh?

Is it? Well, im embarrased. I was reading it on the can late lastnight off my smartphone.

Yeah, okay. I just read the very last sentence about ocean front real estate in Utah. I didnt get that far into it. Can blame me though, if you dont read the last paragraph, it sounds real. What a douche for taking up magazine space, and makingme look like a douche.

Hey, no name calling even if it is at yourself.

It takes something like $100 million to make 1/Billionth of a gram of anitmatter. Hence my $500 being a bargin joke. Then again I don't know how much antimatter a pickup would need.

I thought Scotty beamed it down from the Enterprise.
