Hi guys,

as some of you may know i recently returned from my holiday in America.

At one point i was in Ohio and went into one of the Guitar Centers to find a red strat with matching black headstock and pickguard and instantly recognised it as the American Select with the mahogony body and knew i had to try it out... I had already played a few deluxes and strat plus's at this point and the guitar clicked. However i was unable to buy it since i still had a while to travel on my holiday (down to Atlanta).

During my stay in Nashville, Tennessee, i went into Guitar Center and found myself the very same guitar and decided it was the time and pulled the trigger at $1300.

So here is my new stratocaster 'Eleanor' and her sisters

That's a beautiful guitar. I love the concept of the guitar, just not a HSS fan. The Guitar Center's around here have the same models hanging on the walls for years. They have a regular deluxe HSS that hasn't moved in at least three years....

If you get a chance, post some clips, we'd love to hear how it sounds!

I spent a lot of time playing that same guitar and deciding whether to buy it or the Am Dlx HSS. You'll really like the number of options the S1 switch gives you. I don't think I've ever used the button for the HB though.
