I need help identifying this strat body. It has a 2 point bridge with micro-tilt neck. The pick guard screw holes are recessed and there are 2 recessed holes in each pickup route. The neck pocket has "FC" signed in pencil. The body is solid and heavy but has no date stamp or numbers of any kind. The pick guard is a 1 volume 1 tone knob layout. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some links to the pictures

Obviously, its a MIA body that appears to be refinished once already. Pickguards don't mean much, as this body cannot be from a Big Apple Strat because its not routed for humbuckers.

I agree that it doesn't look like a real Fender body.

No Fender Strat body ever had the routs for the control cavity and jack cup done in such a manner.

Thanks for all the quick replies. If not a strat what could it be?

It's an "SLO".

(strat-like object)

Just guessing could it be , if it is a fender a showmaster they did a model around 2004 that had the s/s/s pickup configuration. Just a thought.

I guess I'll throw my $0.02 in - I think it's a strat-like-object; that body doesn't look like the routing on any Fender USA, MIM or MIJ body I've ever seen. What is throwing me is the micro-tilt. Of course I guess it could be some kind of odd MIJ that normally isn't sold in the USA. I know, I know - no real help here, but I guess that's the issue - this just doesn't look like anything that is commonly seen so I'm somewhat stumped by it.

How about adding some photos of the assembled guitar showing the neck, bridge, pickups and other hardware? That could provide some clues.

G'day jrob79,
I am far from an expert but I believe it may be one of these.

Image

It's a Squier Mini Strat (3/4 scale). It has some similarities to your body

Image

-two point tremolo
-shape of the lower horn
-one volume, one ton knob
-all the screws seem to match up. It looks like the pickup screws go into the recesses.
-the closeness of the jackplug to both the tremolo and the edge of the body.
-the fact that it looks like a Strat but "not quite"

Just maybe. ......Mark.

Yes, that's what I'd like to see too. Partly for the bridge: unless I'm seeing it wrong these holes can't be meant for Fender style trem post bushings:

Image

For that matter, I haven't seen holes done that way beneath pickguard screws either. Quite odd.

Can't comment on the Squier suggestion because I've never seen a Squier Mini Strat with its clothes off, and Google isn't helping. I'm also failing to find a Mini Strat with a vibrato bridge - do they exist? I'm guessing a lot of us here are not exactly experts on Mini Strats...

Fascinated to see the rest of this Unidentified Flying Strat-o-like.

Cheers - C

The more I look at this mystery body, the more I am convinced that it's a Squier mini.
I suppose the obvious question is ''How big is it". A Strat body should measure about 15.5 inches from the bottom strap button to the flat part at the top of the neckplate. Is it smaller?
One final observation is- look at the tremolo post holes in relation to the nearest pickguard screws in the above photos, although the black one is a hardtail, the hole position is the same. Compare this to an average Strat with a 2 point tremolo below (not that there's anything average about my Bluey)

Ceri is correct though (not unusual) in the above post. I also cannot find a mini with a 2 point tremolo or any trem for that matter.
Maybe an owner of a mini can confirm some of these points and explain thing like your odd shaped jack rout and all the recessed screws.
I hope this all helps. I will also watch with interest. ....Mark.

Thanks for all the info I am stumped by this well made mystery guitar body. I bought the body at a flea market cheap ($25) and thought I would put a Warmoth neck on it with some 69 fender pickups. I always wanted a 2 point trem guitar.
The body measures 15.5" and hopefully fender parts will fit it.
