Fender recently released a Floyd Rose-equipped variant on the Blacktop HH Strat featuring a pair of open-coil humbuckers with black bobbins. This guitar uses a 22-fret maple neck with a MOP-inlaid rosewood fretboard and a small headstock. So I decided to tweak the whole design by adding some 1970's flavors on it by using the guitar builder: a bound neck with blocks and a large headstock.

Unfortunately the builder doesn't have a 22-fret option and lacks off a wider choice of many other custom goodies to choose from.

Here's the result:

For some reason block inlays remind me too much of Fender trying to look like a Gibson. The dot inlays are just perfectly suited for Fender....

This is not my case.

Fender Japan produced a late 1960s Strat reissue with a double bound slab body. It sported a bound neck with block like my "own" version of the Blacktop HH FR.
