It looks like authentic standard-issue "Hecho en Mexico" to me.

Let me guess, some guitar dater program said "serial number not recognized"? Disregard these lame programs. One that I looked at, looks like it was last updated in 2008. :o

I'll third the notion, looks legitimate to me also. And a very nice looking Strat that you have there. :)

first i the new serial number made me sktepical cause i couldnt recognized first but now ive found out that it must be a "real one " cause the the mx10xxxxxx stands for m=millenium and the x for after the first decade and the 10 for the year it made like mz07 for the year 2007
secondly it was the price, i really get it for about 390 dollar and here its usually around the double
thx for all your help, now i can set my mind at rest to enjoy the great sound of this guitar...i think even it would be a copied one it really sounds perfect...
stil another question whats about the fender plate in the back?why some have a fender logo or the brand written and others not?

Each line of instruments within the Fender Corporation receives different and specific detail appointment to set them apart from one another. Only the US-made guitars regularly have neck plates stamped with the company logo or in the case of a re-issue of a vintage model, a serial number. Guitars made by Fender-Japan often have a neck plate stamped "FENDER" in large block letters while the Squier line of guitars feature a neck plate marked as such in trademark script lettering. Your Ensenada-made Strat with its plain neck plate typifies those instruments made in Mexico.

looks fine to me everything as it should be. Maybe the shop was clearing some stock hence the price, you got a good deal.

Send you serial number to consumerrelations@fender.com and they will send you details about the guitar.

Fender changed its serial numbering system last year all american made guitars carry the US tag at the front of the serial number with either a 10 or 11 for the year after it so a US serial number would look like US10XXXXXX or US11XXXXXX and as far as i am aware the mexican made models follow the same format MX10XXXXXX or MX11XXXXXX so the MX would stand for Mexico

For the newer models, MX means made in Mexico, and US means made in US. So, a serial number starting with MX10:
MX = Mexico
10 = Year (in this case 2010)

On models that start with an MZ, such as MZ0xxxxxx
M = Mexico
Z = Zero (started in 2000)
0 = Year (in this case 2000)

MZ7xxxxxx
M = Mexico
Z = Zero (started in 2000)
7 = Year (in this case 2007)

Looks like the run of the mill MIM strat. Its the MIA and Re-Issues you need to worry about.
