As we all know that Dave Murray uses Fender Stratocaster for the last 15 years, and we are all wondering what type of Stratocasters does Dave Murray uses.

Dave Murray uses 2 late nineties a Black and Cream colour Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS with Floyd Rose with a maple neck, a SSS pearloid pickguard, vintage style tuners, three Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Bridge, and 2 Hot Rail neck pickups.

Also Dave Murray uses a modified 1997-98 Brown Sunburst Fender California Stratocaster with a rosewood neck and Floyd Rose, with the same Pickups as the Black and the cream strat. Only difference is that the neck only has 21 frets as appose to the 22 frets which is on the American Special Strat.

Dave had also another black American Special Strat with SD Hotrails (featuring black pickup covers), but this particular guitar sports a mirror pickguard and black plastic parts. It served as a basis for the Japanese-made Iron Maiden Stratocaster of 2001.



His signature model is slightly different than the current Artist Series production version as it shares many of the features found on the Japanese HST57-DM tribute guitar such as a 5-way selector and an original Floyd Rose tremolo.

Dave also uses Jackson, ESP, and Gibson axes to name a few. Of interesting note, Premier Guitar got several details wrong of some of his instruments which I found kind of surprising considering the caliber of their mag.
