I use Fender Bullet 9's on my HSS Hwy 1, while using the vibrato/trem and bending at the same time, I heard a metal click, when I play the G string again, it produce a sound like a buzz/thud sound like something has blocked the string, instead of a normal twang. It sounds really awful, I checked the trem spring...normal, loosen the string a re-tune it, still the same. Will replaceing all the strings fix it?

Check the string at the bridge block in the back. It may have slipped out of the hole or bound up. You may also check the bridge screws on the saddle. If they failed its an easy fix. Does your bridge return to its normal position after you use the tremelo?

Thanks for the reply, checked your suggestions, it seems normal. I loosen the string again and adjusted the saddle, bridge screws, the bridge return is normal, but no luck, it sound awful. Just baffled at what's the problem... I'm ready to replace the strings, if it does not work I'd be real disappointed!!!

Hi, I changed the strings on my HWY1 with new bullet strings, it seems to have worked.
That awful sound on the G string is back to normal. Can't find the cause anyway, Guess I had to replace all the strings.

Thanks for the help!

That sounds odd.....of all my years playing Strat's, I've never experienced that before! I have had strat's where the trem springs dragged on the body route and would make weird "space noises" and failure to return to zero.....but never just on the one string! Glad the gremlin is gone from your axe!

Who would have guessed it was the string. I wonder. :|

Sounds to me like the string is sliding out of the saddle when your using the tremolo. Check the slot of the string on the saddle to see if it slips when you do your tremolo/bend combination.

Yeah, it's odd, just 1 string... can't imagine what the cause. I checked just about everywhere. If the cause was from bending an using trem at the same time, then I'm in trouble. Btw the sound is still not perfect, like I used it the first time...thx
