I have the guitar as above that has had the original tremolo system removed and a real botch job done to replace it with a floyd rose floating bridge (which doesn't sit properly anyway). I want to get the original tremolo system -does anybody know what the original tremelo/bridge system was called....

Is there a cavity routed on the rear of the body? If so, it sounds like the standard vintage-style tremolo bridge was installed when the guitar was originally built.

Pics would be a big aid to confirming this though.

Yes it has a cavity. The original was definitely a floating style system not a standard bridge. I will try get some pics. Its about an 85-87 Japanese Strat.

Cheers
Greg

G'day Greg, I have a Japanese Strat s/n E8XXXXX. It came standard with this tremolo, the Kahler Spyder. Does this look like it would fit ?

This is a fairly rare model. Other features are a 22 fret neck and Gotoh tuners.
Maybe it's one of these. Here's one in red.

Hope this helps .......Mark.
