An Acoustasonic Tele naturally...

If that fishman aura pre is anything close to as good as Fender claims it's gonna be a nice ax...

Other than my stable of 12-string acoustics who needs anything more?<G>

I've been thinking about getting a Classic 50s in surf green for ages. Love the look.

I've only got one. When I get a new Strat, I'm going to swap the pickups with my old one, and sell my old guitar.

For me, it's a matter of not wanting a lot of guitars. I can only play one at a time, and I only want an SSS Strat, so I don't see the need to own lots.

I have a 2010 EC Strat now. My second will be a 1989 EC Strat. I'll decide which I like better then sell the other.

After that, I'll have the custom shop build me something with CS 54s in it, buy a dual electric gig bag from Mono Case and I'll be done with guitar buying.

Fourth?: a hardtail G-bender, because I can, and who else does? Plus i want a guitar that makes me need to see a chiroractor after slinging it over my shoulder for a half hour. I did a session gig last summer, it was one of these "get a call at 10am, dont have anything with me, have to shoot down to CT". They had a Tele B-bender, and a Gibson 335. I dont have a tele, but have a 345, so I used that. As soon as i tried the B-bender, I loved it, so I used that for the rest of the session. But GOD! between the guitar itself, and the metal apparatus that runs throgh the back of the body, the thing felt like I had a M-60 strapped over my shoulder, fully loaded.

Oh, not just the weight, but having to push the neck down to make the mechanism work is great for your own neck and shoulders.
I agree with the PRS guy. Need another 22, had a 24 for a few weeks, and traded it for a 22. The 25's are too thin sounding for my taste. 22, thicker neck, larger heal, same Fralin pickups, much thicker toned.

That B-bender Tele weighed twenty-three pounds?

Good Gawd!

Between the weight, and havingto push the neck toward the floor, it had the same affect.

Well, mebbe......

If you got an A-gunner you can foist the spare barrel, tripod, T&E, asbestos mitt, etc off on him then let the rest of the squad hump the ammo.

Mebbe......

62 Hot Rod, Played one and really liked it :D . If I would have enough money I would get the custom shop to make one to my exact specs. Ash body, Saphire blue finish, 3 seperate on off switches for the pickups, rosewood fingerboeard and vintage tremelo.

i believe if you get the 62 hot rod, the custom shop strat will move to the backburner.
i have the 62 hr and its the best strat, guitar ive ever played.
its my #1.
i also have a 57hr strat, and this one comes close 2nd. th avri hr series is very very well built strats imho.

I got to agree about the AVRI over a custom shop. While I think all custom shops are over priced, fender's even more so. I can kind of understand why a Gibson is more, a fender is still two pieces of wood bolted together. Its not like we're still hand carving everything, and why would you? Say what you want about the machines they use for cutting now, b but you get as consistent an product as youbcan with wood. I've put my build against custom shops, and its always come out equal if not better than the CS's I've compared them with. They're all slabs of alder/ash bolted to slabs of maple. CS mau have better metal hardware, but you can buy that, nice selections of wood, again, you can get that. I paid less than a couple hundred for a solid 1-piece body, with fantastic figuring.
The best deals for CS's are their custom shop versions of the deluxes, they're not that much more. But $4000 for a black 70s body with a maple neck and small tremolo arm? I love D Gilmour, but his strat isn't close to that cost, even if you take into account inflation.
