You have a hss mim strat, the neck and mid are ceramic
Pus. Consider changing neck and mid for optimal tone.
If your looking for more of a srv high mids spiky highs
Tight lows get Texas specials.
If your looking for more of mid scooped John mayerish tone,
The cs 69 with consideration the middle pu is not rwrp so
No hum cancelling in pos 4. Not a bad thing.
Cs fat 50s are less mid scooped but have a similar tone.
(at least on what I've read) middle pu is rwrp.
If you want Jeff healy blues type, I believe he used a squire
Loaded with hot rails or hot lace, or emgs.
Eric Clapton , well vintage noiseless with a midboost.
However you may have to ditch the hb, ive read on other
Forumite threads it removes clarity.
If no preference, and you don't want to stick with fender
Pus then you could get dimarzio area 58 neck area 67 mid.
These are noiseless . Great tone you can build off of.

I'm not trying to copy anyone famous' tone. I wouldn't really want to sound like anyone famous honestly. The Seymour Duncan JB humbucker mod is one of the best things I have ever done to the guitar.... I can't believe you said to get rid of it!

...well you did ask for someone's personally opinion.

The SH1 Duncan is great as a neck pickup in a Strat. If you need a SingleCoil use the Lil 59.
The JB and the SH1/Lil59 are really great working together. From Funk/Jazz/Blues to Hardrock and Metal. Both pickups together have a great clean sound also.

Cheers,
Robin
