Hi,

This is my first message on the board.. I recently bought an American Deluxe Stratocaster from the pawn shop where I work. It was missing the tremolo cover plate and I am looking to replace it. The serial of the guitar is DZ0256608. From what I could gather it is a 2000 American Deluxe Fat Strat, the color is Teal Green Transparent. If that makes any sense.

I would really like to buy an original fender cover plate to replace the missing one, I am also looking for the original case information, so that I can maybe try and buy a used one off ebay or something..

Thanks alot !

What color is the pickguard? The entire photo seems to have a green cast to it which makes it impossible to tell the color.

Dude, forget matching the current PG. Buy a black plastics kit and that thing'll look all kinds of sexy

Perhaps your camera is a bit off but that doesn't look like Teal green.

-No case
-No tremolo cover
-'noiseless' pickup covers

Do you have a photo of the headstock and the spring cavity?

I think his camera is making everything look a bit more "green" - that's definitely a 1998-2003 American Deluxe Fat Strat in the trans teal finish; those were really hard to shoot correctly unless you have a really great camera. The Vintage Noiseless pickups are correct for that model (which by the s/n is a 2000). The plastic parts were supposed to be "aged" a bit; they weren't as green as the pickguards on the AV '62s but they also weren't as white as the parchment used on the American Series. The teal finish always made the pickguard look greener than it did on the other colors.

Now the case is an issue here - I had a 1998 American Deluxe; it came with a really cheap black tolex case that was sourced from Mexico instead of from G&G; these were pretty flimsey (mine was so warped it wouldn't stay open at all) so they eventually switched to the fitted molded plastic case. Unfortunately I don't remember if that happened in 2000 or 2001.

I'll try to take pictures of the headstock and springs..

The pickguard is white.

If you're refering to the Spring cavity cover on the back of the guitar you can get that off Ebay or any just about any music store that carrys Fender parts. its a 6 hole offset 3ply plate in white, parchment, or any other color that Fender offers. Same plate fits American Standard and Deluxe models.

If you're refering to the ashtray cover over the bridge I am not aware that it was available on the Deluxe with the exception of the 50th anniversary model. Good luck.

If it were me, Id get whatever I could find, no one's going to see it. But anytime a new strat comes in, the platic spring cover gets tossed in a drawer, never to be seen again. Actually; if its the light green, i think i have 3 or 4 in there, let me know and i'll just mail it to you from the office.

Quick follow up, i LOVE that green color. I was going to shoot my strat w/that (i believe its emerald green, or the other one with a different name but looks the same), or the Candy Green from the Clapton. But the company I got the nitro finish from didnt have it pre-mixed, the Candy I dont think anyone does. you got to lay down GOLD first, then mix a bunch of colors. It would turn into a pain in the a#(. I'm goint to do the next one in that green though, I actually had the blue stripped from it today while I was at work.
