It can be extracted. Find somebody (like a woodworker or machinist) who knows how to do that kind of stuff to help you.

If you have to pay for it, the cheapest way might be to just buy a new block or a whole new bridge (with trem arm).

It happened to me once. I took it to a music store. They drilled it out and installed a helicoil (sp?).

Good Luck.

the very same thing happened to me. i had someone attempt to drill it out, but the damage was done. any idea as to where to get a CHEAP replacement. i'm not a tone or gear nut, i'd just like to have the trem working again

The same thing happened to me as well! I successfully got the little piece out by using a pair of wire cutters! The wire cutters gave me a grip on the little piece of the trem bar that was stuck in there and I just twisted it out. It all depends exactly where the trem arm broke off though.

Well, first of all, Fender Strat Trems are not meant for 'dive bombing'. You wanna do that, get a Floyd Rose or a Kahler. To all of you having this prob, what type of strats do you have this problem with? I have a H1 strat and the trem bar doesn't screw 'all the way down', because it gets to tight and I don't want to force it. I am a casual trem user, just to add a lil vibrato, not any Vai or Satch abuse!! I was thinking of changing out my stock trem witha an upgrade, but do not want to de-value my guitar. :?:

It's Heli-Coil .... a thread replacement system. Look in any hardware store or google it. It works great.

you might get a jewelers screwdriver that will fit into the hole and try to unscrew it if it is not in to tight
